Russia has closed the entire transport section of the Georgian Military Highway, which passes through the territory of North Ossetia to Georgia. It is known that the road will be closed until further notice.
"Due to the deteriorating weather conditions, heavy snow on the territory of the Republic of Georgia, the inability to ensure safe passage of vehicles, and in accordance with the recommendation of the Border Police of Georgia, the movement of transit vehicles from the city of Vladikavkaz to the settlement of Lars is prohibited from 15:00 on January 9th 2016 until further notice," EMERCOM reports.
