According to the polling agency VTsIOM, Russians are beginning summer in high spirits. According to experts, the people of Russia are assessing the situation in the country more than optimistically. The corresponding index of social sentiment, which lost 6 points in April, not only regained lost ground in May, but reached a new historical high of 73 points, Gazeta.ru reports.
The index of life situations from April to May of this year rose to 82 points, approaching the record high in February of 84 points. In most cases, respondents aged 18 to 24 years express a positive attitude with regard to their own life (42%), residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg (41%), and those with high incomes (41%).
