Today Russia celebrates the Builder's Day - professional holiday for workers of the construction industry, which is celebrated in Russia on the second Sunday of August.
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev congratulated workers and veterans of the construction industry on their professional holiday today. He noted the importance of their work nationwide. His congratulatory telegram was published today on the Cabinet of Ministers’ website.
“Your profession has been highly respected at all times. Thanks to accurate, often innovative decisions of builders, cities across our country acquire modern look, necessary infrastructure is being built, and lives of millions of people become better,” his telegram says.
"Construction industry is one of the key industries of Russian economy. Implementation of national projects, development of industry and social sphere depend on it. Enormous work of engineers and architects, surveyors and technologists, crane operators and installers is behind every commissioned object, every square meter of every building in the country", prime minister said.
“You have difficult and truly noble profession, and your work is felt throughout the country. I would like to congratulate industry veterans. Let your dedication serve an example for young generations,” Medvedev concluded.
Builder's Day is officially celebrated since August 12, 1956.
