Russia’s COVID-19 case tally rises by 27,250

Russia’s COVID-19 cases rose by 27,250 in the past day and the total case tally reached 2,933,753, the anti-coronavirus crisis center said.

The growth rate in cases dropped to 0.9% for the first time since October 8. Currently, 537,325 people are ill in Russia.

The lowest growth rates were registered in the past 24 hours in the Chukotka Autonomous Region (0.2%), the Republics of Altai, Tuva and the Nenets Autonomous Region (0.4%).

Moscow confirmed 5,652 new coronavirus cases in the past day. The city’s coronavirus growth rate is 0.8%. Moscow’s coronavirus recoveries rose by 5,228 to 582,772 in the past day and the death toll increased by 73 to 10,613. There are currently 163,201 active coronavirus cases in the city.

Some 3,749 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in St. Petersburg, 1,540 in the Moscow Region, 498 in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, 416 in the Pskov Region and 402 in the Sverdlovsk Region, TASS reported.
