Russian Grandmaster Ian Nepomniachtchi lost to reigning World Champion Magnus Carlsen in game nine of the battle for the world chess crown in Dubai on Tuesday.
With nine games already played, Carlsen leads 6-3.
The tenth game is due on December 8. Nepomniachtchi will play it with the black pieces.
