Allegations about a "Russian intervention" in the situation in the US are being used by American policy actors in the struggle for power, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said.
"People who bear no official responsibility for their statements but are involved in the ongoing struggle for power in the US don’t hesitate to attach the ‘Beware Russian intervention’ label to this situation without having any grounds to do so," TASS cited him as saying.
He said that in their struggle for power those people ignored refutations by the supreme political leadership in Moscow and turned a blind eye to reports that computer malware was getting into the systems of Russian government agencies.
"But they do not need it. They wish to use the reanimated Russian threat in the struggle for power in the United States," Ryabkov said.
