Russia’s and the United States’ approaches on Syria remain fundamentally different, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said, commenting on the meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
According to the diplomat, the situation in Syria was discussed in every detail at the meeting.
"Our U.S. counterparts show only verbal interest in expanding cooperation and areas of common interest on Syria," Ryabkov stressed, adding that approaches of Russia and the U.S. "remain fundamentally different in terms of content."
