Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov met with Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaei in Moscow yesterday, according to the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The diplomats conferred on the status of regional and international developments, including the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and the re-imposition of U.S. unilateral sanctions against Iran since last November.
The diplomats also explored the ways to boost bilateral economic ties, the MNA reported.
Earlier in the day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif had also discussed issues related to Iran nuclear deal and the Syrian crisis over the phone.
