Saakashvili: Conviction of president for using his unrestricted right to pardon convicts refers to political nature of trial

Conviction of a president for using his unrestricted right to pardon convicts indicates the political nature of the trial, - former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili said when commenting on the verdict delivered by Tbilisi City Court against him, InterPressNews reported.

“The "Judgment" of the Georgian court under the full control of Gazprom's largest private shareholder Ivanishvili is completely illegal and contradicts all international, national norms and common sense.

Conviction of a president for using his unrestricted right to pardon convicts refers to the political nature of the trial and to the fact that the Georgian authorities could not find anything serious for 5 years: neither corruption nor any other offense.

But this "verdict", as well as the trial in Kiev, demonstrates that oligarchs who came to power in Georgia and Ukraine are acting synchronously and coordinate against me as a leader of the fight against corruption, oligarchy and people's robbery.

It is no secret that for these years Vladimir Putin has been demanding from the Georgian and Ukrainian authorities to carry out repressive measures against me. He repeated this again at the last press conference. Putin, Poroshenko and Ivanishvili can do anything against me but my struggle will continue against oligarchy, corruption, poverty and humiliation of people until the full victory of our peoples!" Saakashvili posted on his Facebook page.
