Ex-Georgian president and former Odesa regional state administration head Mikheil Saakashvili has said he does not plan to seek United States protection and intends to return to Ukraine, Kyiv Post reports.
“I’m not going to use the protection of the U.S. or any other country. I’m going to return to Ukraine,” Saakashvili said during a video conference organized at the office of his party, the Movement of New Forces, in Kyiv on August 1.
Saakashvili did not disclose when he is planning to return to Ukraine.
“When I return – I will publicly announce the date of my return,” he said.
