Baku is a wonderful city for gymnasts, Uzbek gymnast Sabina Tashkentenbaeva said in an interview with the Vestnik Kavkaza correspondent after her performance in the qualifying exercises with a ribbon at the 37th World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Baku.
"I adore Baku! I was here at the Islamic Games two years ago and twice participated in the World Cup. Here are the best conditions for tournaments, the best arena and the best spectators!" she said.
”The tournaments are getting better each time. In general, I really like the way the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation works. It is a consistently high level growing constantly," Sabina Tashkenbaeva added.
This week, on September 16-22, the 37th World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships is held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku. The tournament is the qualification competition for the 32nd Olympic Games in Tokyo. More than 300 gymnasts from 61 countries are competing for nine sets of medals. The motto of the tournament is “Fairy tales will come to life”.
