Baku hosts the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games perfectly, Iranian gymnast Saeedreza Keikha said today in an interview with Vestnik Kavkaza.
"Baku once again hosts international competitions perfectly. There's still this wonderful arena for tournaments, just like at the World Cups in Artistic Gymnastics in 2016 and 2017," he said.
He also pointed out the uniqueness of the Islamic Games. "These are special international competitions, because they are like the Olympic Games - they combine many sports," he said.
The 4th Islamic Solidarity Games are held in Baku from May 8 to 22. Athletes will compete at 16 sports facilities in 20 types of sports - 17 Olympic and three non-Olympic ones. Competitions in artistic and rhythmic gymnastics were included in the program of Islamic Solidarity Games for the first time at the initiative of the First Vice President of Azerbaijan, President of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, Mehriban Aliyeva.
