Sagintayev appointed chief of staff of Kazakh President's office

Ex-prime minister of Kazakhstan Bakytjan Sagintayev was appointed as the chief of the Presidential Administration of Kazakhstan. The corresponding decree was signed by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, according to the Akorda website.

Sagintayev was born in 1963. He graduated from Kazakh State University, in economic sciences. He began his career as a teacher in the political economy department of the Almaty Institute of National Economy.

Sagintayev served as Prime Minister from 8 September 2016. He was replaced by Askar Mamin on February 21, 2019 when the government resigned.

Nursultan Nazarbayev stepped down as Kazakh President on March 19.
