Second day of FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup starts in Baku

The second day of the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup has started at the Baku National Gymnastics Arena. Today, the qualifying competitions will be held in the men's vault, men's pommel horse, men's horizontal bar exercises, as well as women's floor exercise and women's balance beam exercise, with the finals being held on March 17. 

On the first day of the competitions, the qualifying competitions were held in men's floor exercise, men's parallel bars and men's ring, as well as women's vault and women's uneven bars.

The first three places in the qualifications in floor exercises were occupied by Milad Karimi (14,433, Kazakhstan), Artem Dolgopyat (14,400, Israel), Benjamin Gischard (14,333, Switzerland).

Vladislav Poliashov (14,866, Russia), Oliver Hegi (14,833, Switzerland) and Ferhat Arican (14,666, Turkey) have the best results in exercises with parallel bars.

Courtney Tulloch (14,800, Great Britain), You Hao (14,733, China), Igor Radivilov (14,676, Ukraine) have the best results in exercises with rings.

Female gymnasts having the best results in exercises with vault are Jade Carey (14,700, the U.S.), Alexa Moreno (14,533, Mexico), Dipa Karmakar (14,299, India).

Female gymnasts having the best results in exercises with uneven bars are Anastasiia Iliankova (14,466, Russia), Jonna Adlerteg (14,330, Sweden), Lyu Jiaqi (14,066, China).

The finals in the men's floor exercise, men's parallel bars, men's ring, as well as finals in women's vault and women's uneven bars will be held on March 16.

The finals in the men's vault, men's pommel horse, men's horizontal bar, as well as finals in women's balance beam and women's floor exercise will be held on March 17. 

The gymnasts who will get the highest points for the performance will be awarded with the traditional AGF Trophy Cup. 

The FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup is held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku on March 14-17. According to the new rules, the World Cup is a qualifying event for Tokyo-2020 Summer Olympic Games. 170 gymnasts from 41 countries will contest medals at the tournament.
