Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan held a meeting with the heads of the delegations participating in the meeting of the Council on Cultural Cooperation of the CIS Member States. The heads of the delegations also participated in a conference on the 70th anniversary of UNESCO.
“We pay a great deal of attention to cultural policies, including cultural diplomacy. Our task is to preserve the values which our people around the world have created over centuries and, of course, also to develop and promote new values in Armenia, regardless of their ethnic origin. It is very commendable that we come to build more active cooperation with UNESCO. And also, certainly, we attach importance to our cooperation within the Commonwealth of Independent States,” Armenia Today cited the president as saying.
The President also stressed the importance of the ongoing cultural dialogue.
In addition, Serzh Sargsyan awarded Adelina Cüberyan von Fürstenberg with the 2nd Degree Order for Service to the Motherland.
