Sevara Karimova: Rhythmic gymnastics has always been at high level in Azerbaijan

The Uzbek national rhythmic gymnastics team likes Baku very much, the coach of the national team, which arrived to the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup, Sevara Karimova said, speaking to the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza.

"We came here with two seniors and a group team. It's our first time at the World Cup in Baku, and we like it very much. There is a very beautiful gym here and excellent conditions," she stressed.

According to Sevara Karimova, this World Cup will help Uzbek artists to prepare for participation in the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games which is to start in Baku in May. "We intends to work very actively and look forward to a good, successful performance of our gymnasts," Sevara Karimova noted.

She thanked the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation for the high level of organization of the competitions, Baku athletes and coaches. "Very good conditions have been created for us both for training and performances. we like everything here, everything is at the highest level. Big thanks to the organizers," the coach of the Uzbek national team said.

As for the Azerbaijani gymnasts, Sevara Karimova said that they are serious competitors for medals. "In addition, in art gymnastics Azerbaijan has always been at a high level in rhythmic gymnastics," she drew attention.

The FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup will be held in Baku on April 28-30. Participation of 94 gymnasts from 21 countries is expected in the event, 37 of them in the individual program and 57 - as the ten group teams.  Athletes will compete for 8 medal sets.
