 Seventh day of 4th Islamic Solidarity Games kicks off in Baku: taekwondo, wrestling and boxing

The seventh day of the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games has kicked off in Baku. Today, the athletes will compete for 32 medal sets: athletics, boxing, diving, taekwondo, volleyball and wrestling competitions will be held.

Athletics competitions in men’s 200m, men’s 800m, men’s 3000m steeplechase, men’s hammer throw, women’s 200m, women’s 400m, women’s 5000m, women’s 100m hurdles, women’s javelin throw, women’s high jump, women’s long jump competitions will be held.

Moreover, taekwondo finals will start at the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games. Women’s will compete in the weight categories of 62 and 73 kg, and men’s will compete in the weight categories of 63, 74 and 87 kg.

Men's Greco-Roman (66kg, 75kg, 85kg,130kg) finals will also be held today.

Boxing competitions will complete today ( 46-49 kg, 52 kg, 56 kg, 60 kg 64 kg, 69 kg, 75 kg, 81 kg, 91 kg and 91 kg).

First diving competitions will start today, including men’s 3m springboard finals.

Volleyball competitions will also continue as part of the Islamic Solidarity Games.

Basketball competitions (3х3) will start on May 18. Azerbaijani women’s team will compete with Turkmen and Algerian teams, while Azerbaijani men’s team will compete with Turkish and Turkmen teams.

The 4th Islamic Solidarity Games are held in Baku from May 8 to 22. Athletes will compete at 16 sports facilities in 20 types of sports - 17 Olympic and three non-Olympic ones.
