Honored Artist of Russia Sharif Shahmardanov was awarded the Leonardo da Vinci medal on New Year's Eve by the Vice-President of the European Academy of Natural Sciences, Arkady Gorbunov.
Shahmardanov was awarded for his contribution to the creation of creative art works which have received international recognition, RIA Dagestan reports.
