The telephone conversation between Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu and the Secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, took place today, as confirmed by the Russian Security Council's press service.
"Shoigu expressed condolences over the numerous victims",
the press service reported.
The statement added that Shoigu strongly condemned what he described as another attempt by external forces to interfere in Iran's internal affairs.
Furthermore, the Russian Security Council Secretary reiterated Moscow's readiness to develop cooperation with Tehran, confirming that contacts would continue.
Shoigu also announced Russia's readiness to develop bilateral cooperation based on the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement signed on January 17 of last year.
