The Azerbaijan Tourism Association stated that the crash of the Russian aircraft in Egypt has not affected the tourism industry of the country, since the interest of Azerbaijani citizens in Egyptian resorts disappeared a few years ago because of the troubled situation in the Middle East.
"Egypt has more Russian tourists. After the events which occurred in the Middle East a few years ago, citizens of Azerbaijan have been advised not to visit the countries of this region," the deputy chairman of the Association Muzaffar Agakerimov said.
He noted that Azerbaijan does not have direct air links with Egypt, so travellers must transfer in Doha, Istanbul or Dubai, Trend reports.
