Somalia severs diplomatic relations with Iran

Somalia has decided to sever diplomatic relations with Iran, the Foreign Ministry of Somalia reports.

"This step was taken after careful consideration and in response to Iran's continued interference in the internal affairs of Somalia,'' RIA Novosti cites the message.

Iranian diplomats were given 72 hours to leave the country.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Sudan announced they are severing diplomatic relations with Iran.
