The world's largest record companies Sony Music and Warner Music Group announced the suspension of activities in Russia due to the situation in Ukraine.
"We have suspended operations in Russia and will continue to support the provision of humanitarian aid to those in need", the Sony Music Group says.
The company noted that its employees would continue to receive salaries for an indefinite period. The situation with the artists is currently being discussed.
Warner Music Group is also suspending operations in Russia, including investment and project development, promotional and marketing activities, and production of all physical products. "We will continue to fulfill our obligations to people, artists and songwriters as much as possible", the company said.
