Soviet and Georgian singer and actor Georgy Khutsishvili died in Tbilisi, the Ministry of Culture of Georgia reported.
It is specified that a 56-year-old artist died as a result of an extended illness.
As an actor Khutsishvili made his debut in the early 80s, he is known for his roles in the films "Love with an Accent", "Another Georgian Story", ”In the Autumn Rain" (1985), "Old Waltz" (1984) and others.
Khutsishvili also made a significant contribution to the popularization of Georgian music.
