SpaceX has sent a Falcon 9 launch vehicle into space, which will deliver the Turkish communications satellite Turksat 5A into orbit.

The launch from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station was carried out at 22:58 US East Coast time (06:58 Moscow time). A fifth-generation Turkish communications satellite weighing about 4.5 tons will be launched into a geostationary orbit with an altitude of about 35.7 thousand km and will be in operation for at least 15 years, TASS reports.

This is SpaceX's second launch in the last 24 hours. The company is expected to launch the cargo ship Dragon on December 21 to resupply the International Space Station.
