Spain reported the most daily coronavirus deaths yet, signaling that lockdowns in Europe won’t be lifted anytime soon while its leaders split along economic fault lines, Bloomberg reports.
After Italy reported its deadliest day on Friday, another 832 patients died in Spain over the past 24 hours, the Health Ministry in Madrid said Saturday. Almost 15,000 coronavirus victims — more than half the world’s total — have died in the two countries, which are in almost total lockdown except for essential errands such as buying food and medicine.
