Spartak Moscow sliced apart Sevilla with rapid counterattacks to beat the Spanish team 5-1 in the Champions League at Moscow’s Otrkytie-Arena yesterday.
The Russian team is level with Liverpool on five points at the top of Group E. Sevilla dropped from first to third after a result its coach Eduardo Berizzo called "very tough."
The goals were scored by Spartak’s Quincy Promes (in the 18th and 90th minutes), Lorenzo Melgarejo (58th minute), Denis Glushakov (67th minute), Luiz Adriano (74 minute), and Sevilla’s Simon Kjaer (30th minute).
Liverpool demolished Maribor 7-0 in the other group game.
