Spicy food may cause hunger

Spicy food has a positive effect on bowel function, but can cause severe hunger,  nutritionist Evgeny Arzamastsev says.

According to him, spicy food can protect the body from infections and the development of pathogenic microflora in the intestines. Thus, those who love spicy food experience fewer problems with the gastrointestinal tract than those who prefer fresh products.

"Since spicy food irritates the gastrointestinal tract, it increases the contraction of muscle tissue in the intestine, which contributes to an increase in metabolic processes. Energy is expended during contraction, and metabolism speeds up. In this case, intestinal motility improves, harmful toxic elements are removed,"  the expert said in an interview with URA.Ru.
