The US authorities have once again threatened Russia with a possible tightening of sanctions because of the conflict in Ukraine, US State Department spokesperson John Kirby said at a regular press briefing.
According to Kirby, the US government is concerned by reports of new attacks by combined Russian and separatist forces on Ukrainian positions in Maryinka, Shyrokyne, and the northeast of Mariupol. At the same time, TASS votes the official representative of the US State Department as saying that "Russia bears direct responsibility for these aggressive actions."
"Any attempts to seize additional Ukrainian territory will be met with increased cost," Kirby said.
