The U.S. administration will keep trying to persuade Germany to change its position on the Nord Stream 2, director of the Office of Policy Planning Kiron Skinner said at the conference in Washington.
The director of policy planning for the U.S. Department of State urged nations to "put their interests first." At the same time, she noted that it doesn’t mean that the U.S. can’t try to persuade its allies to "think differently about their interests or align their interests to the common challenges," the press service of the Atlantic Council website reported.
Skinner added that the Trump doctrine speaks to "some of the challenges that NATO has faced in recent years."
