The international community must seize the opportunity to resolve the conflict in Syria, which appeared after reaching the deal on the Iranian nuclear program, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier believes.
According to him, until now all attempts to resolve this conflict through political means have failed. "Against this background, the recent agreement between Iran and the 'Six' has opened a new window of opportunity for the region, and, perhaps, a chance to get out of the dead end in Syria," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
The head of the German Foreign Ministry noted that now is the time to find a way to bring the sides in the conflict to the negotiating table. "In the framework of this, we also need to hold preparatory talks with the key players in the region, such as Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Iran," he said.
