German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, in his address on behalf of the OSCE, called for a prolongation of the truce which has been established in recent days in eastern Ukraine.
"I am pleased that, according to the observations of the OSCE, the ceasefire agreement in the east of Ukraine has once again been maintained for several days and that more serious incidents in the conflict zones have not occurred," RIA Novosti quotes Steinmeier as saying.
"The current situation gives hope that the opposing parties will also undertake other difficult steps that must still be taken in order to fully implement the Minsk agreements, with readiness to find constructive solutions, which will help to overcome the crisis and defuse the conflict in the long run," the German Foreign Minister said.
