The German Foreign Minister, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, has acknowledged Russia’s constructive role in reaching the agreement on the Iranian nuclear program and in resolving other Middle East problems.
"Looking back at the negotiations on Iran, I can say that Russia played a constructive role. Its position was important in achieving a result," Tass quotes him as saying.
The German Foreign Minister expressed the view that the nuclear deal with Iran "opens up new prospects for the negotiations in the Middle East," including a settlement of the conflict in Syria.
