German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said that without the participation of Russia in the Syrian settlement it would have been impossible to reach a truce, to ensure access for humanitarian assistance and the peace talks in Geneva.
According to him, an important role in the efforts for a political solution to the conflict was played by the negotiations between the West, Russia and the countries of the Middle East in Vienna and Munich.
