NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated today on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference that the alliance is interested in cooperation with Russia.
"It is important to maintain opportunities and formats for dialogue. We are not resuming practical cooperation, but we would like to develop political cooperation in a variety of formats, including on the line of the Russia-NATO Council," he said.
In addition, he commented on the deployment of US missile defense systems in Europe. "We develop our system of protection against ballistic missiles, we offer to do so in transparency mode. There are also bilateral contacts between the US and Russia. But I think that it is better for representatives of the United States to answer this question," the head of NATO concluded.
