NATO will soon have another member - Sweden, the Alliance's Secretary General expressed confidence in this.
"I expect Sweden to become a member of NATO in the very near future",
Jens Stoltenberg said.
The politician expressed the opinion that now the time has come for Stockholm to join the Alliance. He expects that the Turkish parliament will promptly ratify the relevant protocol introduced the day before by the Turkish President.
Let us note that, besides Türkiye, only Hungary did not approve Sweden's application.
According to Bloomberg, the Secretary General previously set a time frame for the alliance countries within which the process of joining Sweden should fit.
"About a week ago, Stoltenberg sent a letter to all NATO countries, stating that Sweden should become a member of the Organization no later than the meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers, scheduled for November 28-29, a representative of the Swedish government said",
