Stoltenberg announces terms of Georgia's accession to NATO

Georgia cannot join NATO without the Membership Action Plan (MAP), which requires the consensus of all NATO countries, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said.

"Georgia cannot join NATO without the Membership Action Plan (MAP). A consensus must be achieved with regard to the MAP," TASS cited him as saying.

At the same time, the NATO Secretary General said that Georgia has all the practical tools needed to enter NATO.

A meeting of the NATO Ministers of Defense will be held on February 10-11.
