NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that NATO will help Turkey to improve its air defence.
"We will adopt a package of measures for Turkey before Christmas," he added.
He noted that Turkey, having a common border with Iraq and Syria "is in a difficult situation." "Turkey is most affected by the crisis in the Middle East, it received more than 2 million refugees," the NATO Secretary General reminded.
According to Stoltenberg, "now it is important to de-escalate and to develop mechanisms to prevent similar incidents in the future."
