On April 10, the street named after the national Azerbaijani leader Heydar Aliyev was opened in the center of the capital of Kazakhstan.

The President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev, who was on an official visit to Astana, attended the opening ceremony.

Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan strengthen cultural and humanitarian ties, Tokayev noted. More than 130,000 ethnic Azerbaijanis, citizens of Kazakhstan, live in the Central Asian republic. Some of them were present at the opening ceremony.

It should be noted that on May 10, 2023, Heydar Aliyev would have turned 100 years old. The opening of the street in the Kazakh capital is timed to this date.
