The guards refused to let a student in hijab to the MGIMO building, citing an internal order according to which the students and applicants are not recommended wearing Islamic headgear, the media report.
‘’If she wants to learn, she needs to remove the hijab. People do not wear hijab in our institute,’’ the deputy head cites the security guard on the radio ‘Moscow speaking’.
As the lawyer Murad Musayev said, the university vice-rector for legal affairs, Sergey Shitko, saved the day.
