A subsidiary company of Russian Railways, the logistics company Gefco, is going to purchase one of the leading Dutch operators in the sphere of air and maritime transport - IJS Global.
The amount of the deal and the details are not known yet. However, experts have calculated that this deal will enable Gefco to gain a foothold in the Australian market as well as to expand its influence in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Germany.
In addition, the company controlled by Russian Railways will be able to expand the list of transported nomenclature, primarily due to pharmaceutical and high technology products, RBC reports.
