The children's ''Svetlana'' dance festival, organized for the second time by the People's Artist of Russia, laureate of the State Prize, prima ballerina of the Bolshoi theater Svetlana Zakharova, is to take place in Moscow on March 29th. Young dancers aged 7 to 16 from different regions will gather there. The ballerina will also perform at the event.
Representatives of the North Caucasus will be among the participants of the dance festival.
Svetlana Zakharova noted in an interview with a correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza, after a press conference where the upcoming event was presented, that this region of Russia has "very good dance traditions." "The created groups kept their folk traditions. They impress with their fiery dances. I always love to watch their dancing girls and these men's hot dances are phenomenal..." she admired.
"Last year, we invited the "Little Horseman" ensemble from Vladikavkaz when the first festival was organized. Certainly, we expected that they would perform very well, but they performed perfectly. They danced wonderfully and boggled my imagination. They were the adornment of the festival. They were our guests, we are always very happy to see them in Moscow,'' the prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theatre added.
"So we're going to invite them in the future. It is very difficult to do without them. I would like to see some of their new performances, as well as what they have learned during this time while they were not in Moscow. I'm incredibly glad that they are so talented and they have great teachers who have a lot of experience. We are waiting for them in Moscow," she said.
Speaking of the Caucasus, she remembered about her tour in Baku. "A few years ago, I performed there. I danced Swan Lake. It was pretty interesting and unusual. The town was being built and I saw new buildings. I think that the city has changed after many years and it is completely different. I remember that the theater where I performed was to close for reconstruction. Frankly speaking, I have never been there again, so I do not know what is happening now, but everything was very good, the audience was very cordial, colleagues were very attentive to me. We were guests and the hosts were very hospitable as usual," Svetlana Zakharova concluded.
