According to Rospotrebnadzor, an outbreak of swine flu has been registered in St. Petersburg. As of January 20th, the swine flu virus has been detected in 80% of cases of respiratory diseases in the city.
"The average threshold of the epidemic in the city has been exceeded by 28%. The structure of respiratory viral infections has changed. The proportion of influenza has reached 80%. 60% of the 260 confirmed laboratory cases of influenza are of H1N1 swine flu,'' RIA Novosti cites Irina Chhindzherii, the chief of epidemic supervision in St. Petersburg.
