Syria intends to sign an agreement on a free trade area (FTA) with the the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) during its next session, the representative of the Ministry of Economy of the country Rania Ahmad reported today.
"We asked EAEU countries to add the application of Syria to the agenda of the next meeting of the union. We live in an era of regional and international economic blocs, and all parties benefit from membership in a union, rather than any specific member at the expense of another," RIA Novosti reported her as saying.
"Syria hopes that the agreement will increase the volume of investments in the country," Ahmad added.
