Syrian Army captures 2nd major town in southwest Syria

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) seized the strategic town of Al-Hirak after a short battle with the jihadist rebels, Al-Masdar News reported.

Led by the Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army launched an attack on Al-Hirak from three different flanks in a bid to overwhelm the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.

However, the jihadist rebels had mostly retreated from Al-Hirak before the Syrian Army was able to enter the town this afternoon.

In addition to capturing Al-Hirak, the Syrian Arab Army was able to take control of the Battalion 271 Base after the jihadist rebels retreated from the area.
