Syria's Foreign Minister Walid Muallem has accused the Western countries of seek to rest responsibility for the deterioration of the Syrian crisis on Russia saying they offer support to terrorists themselves.
"The West strives to place responsibility for the situation in Syria on Russia and deceive the public opinion as it finances, prepares and provides the terrorists with arms itself," Muallem told the Al Mayadeen TV channel.
The US cannot separate the Jabhat Fateh al-Sham terrorist group (previous name of Jabhat al-Nusra banned in Russia) as the Americans are "the ideological centerpiece of this organization," he said.
Muallem said the talks between the US and Russian foreign ministers on Syria may continue if Washington "indeed shows its determination to counter Jabhat Fateh al-Sham and convinces Russia that its intention is serious," TASS reports.
