Syrian army deploys reinforcements to Aleppo

Amid rising tensions between the Kurdish militia and the Syrian army, the interim government has deployed additional military forces to Aleppo, which had previously been declared a military zone.

Following clashes between the Syrian army and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Aleppo, the Syrian Ministry of Defense demanded the SDF withdraw from the city and subsequently deployed reinforcements.

The Syrian National News Agency SANA published a photo of Ministry of Defense forces advancing from Latakia. Citing a source within the army, the agency reports that reinforcements were also being deployed from Damascus.
