Syrian government troops supported by the Russian Aerospace Forces have destroyed a leading unit of the Jabhat Fatah Al-Sham group, formerly known as al-Nusra Front, in Aleppo, the Russian center for Syrian reconciliation said in statement.
According to the statement, the Syrian government troops on Tuesday night repelled an offensive by Jabhat Fatah Al-Sham militants near military schools and 1070 quarter in Aleppo.
"During the counterattack, the Syrian forces supported by the Russian Aerospace Forces have destroyed the leading Jabhat Fatah Al-Sham unit, including four tanks, three infantry combat vehicles, nine pickup truck with heavy machine guns and up to 100 militants," Sputnik cited the statement as saying.
