By the end of the first day of the implementation of the memorandum on the creation of de-escalation zones in Syria, the situation is assessed as stable by all the parties, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
The department stressed that, contrary to a number of Western media reports, the Syrian army did not clash with the opposition. The Ministry of Defense specified, that today the Syrian government troops were attacked by a group of militants in the area of the Zellakiyat settlement in Hama. At the same time, the Syrian army did not fire back and tried to find out whether the attackers were attacking the opposition or terrorists.
