Syrian opposition has no plans to sign Astana meeting communique

The Syrian rebel delegation has no plans to sign a communique at the Astana talks, its spokesman Yahya al-Aridi said.

"There will be no signing. The guarantor countries, that is, Russia, Turkey and maybe Iran, will just release a document," TASS cited him as saying.

A source in the Syrian government delegation told TASS that Damascus representatives also did not plan to sign the communique. "This document is being drawn up by the guarantor countries in order to present it to other talks participants," the source added.
