Taekwondo athlete Ziya Hasanli from Azerbaijan won a gold medal at the 2nd CIS Games. The final of the martial arts tournament was held at the Kur Sports Center in Mingachevir.

Hasanli won in the 63 kg weight class. In the final bout, he defeated a Russian athlete.

Also today, the Azerbaijani team won bronze and silver medals in swimming. So far, the national team has 11 medals: one gold, 6 silver, and 4 bronze.
